Each uncoated dispersible tablet Contains:
Rifaximin BP 200 mg
Rifaximin is an antibiotic which is used in semi-synthetic form. its activity is due to non-synthetic pyridoimidazole ring.
It acts by stopping the growth of bacteria.
Indications
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Traveller’s diarrhoea
- Bacterial infections
Mechanisms of Action
Rifaximin acts by preventing the RNA synthesis by binding with the bacterial DNA dependent ribonucleic acid polymerase enzyme thus blocks the translocation and stops transcription.

Absorption-
It is absorbed orally
Metabolism-
It is metabolized by liver
Excretion-
It is excreted via feces

- Flatulence

Contraindications
- Contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and breast feeding
Precautions
Stop using it if it causes blood diarrhoea
